Exciting times as Fieldview Festival announce their new line up, with veterans Submotion Orchestra returning after they took the stage in 2012 (and killed it).
Having recently released their new album ‘Colour Theory’, Submotion Orchestra are currently touring the UK. I, and I’m sure many others, hope that front woman Ruby Wood will be joining the seven-piece band from Leeds, following a small maternity break, as they continue to deliver sounds influenced by dubstep, soul, ambient electronica, jazz and dub.
Melt yourself down, a London-based band incorporating elements of North African musical styles and a unique mix of punk, jazz and funk, make their Fieldview debut, which will be well worth checking out.
Also on the line-up you will find Bristol favourites Laid Blak, the eclectic sound of Flamingods and fast-rising Jake Isaac who, making waves as a singer/songwriter, is worth paying close attention to.
Fieldview have made a reputation for hosting some of the best upcoming bands over the years including, Mouse Outfit, Bondax and Wolf Alice, so who knows what gems are hiding amongst this years lineup.
The festival will be held on 4-7 August in a beautiful, intimate and rural setting, offering home-cooked local produce and every workshop you can fathom, including (rather terrifyingly) a Clown Academy.
